poaching another OS for PSA macro

Hercules390 - Vm mailing list
while attempting to assemble DMKGRF, I noticed that I am missing the macro for PSA which is usually called  IHAPSA; and listing the maclib and txtlib showed no result.  So I poached it from elsewhere but then I thought I ask before loading it into my private copylib if I am doing something I should not be doing.

I have re-assembled DMKGRAF no problems. Please say exactly what you have done, in detail.

VMFASM DMKGRF DMKHRC

it may also help to read “What Mother Never Told You” in the files section ?

OK I have installed the DIAG84 and MECAFF mods on the sixpack and transferred a file , albeit in ASCII. The only “gotcha” I found was that the WC3270 defines the “ESC” key as “Erase End of Field” which stops you from dropping back to command mode and entering the “Transfer” command. All the files re-assembled without error, following the instructions parrot fashion.

Why would you want the PSA macro on VM? VM doesn’t have a PSA…

I will give another try.  The closest I ever came to assembling DMKKGRF was with three assembly errors.  RDEVFULL and PASSATTN not found.  There is a PSA macro on DIAG58 tape that I created a private maclib and loaded it there.

I can’t find a PSA macro on the DIAG58 tape. Here is a scan of the tape. Have you downloaded a clean six-pack 1.2 and installed from scratch?

I was able to install and test diag58 by retrieving a fresh copy of sixpack from David's site.  It turned out that my old system had some modifications to it that somehow was preventing me from installing diag58.  Also I was able to add two 3350 packs to my other system by following Mike's instructions.   Thanks to everyone for helping a new VM/cmser.

I will give another try.  The closest I ever came to assembling DMKKGRF was with three assembly errors.  RDEVFULL and PASSATTN not found.  There is a PSA macro on DIAG58 tape that I created a private maclib and loaded it there.

VM doesn’t have a PSA… Dave From: Dave Wade [mailto:[hidden email]]

Subject: [H390-VM] poaching another OS for PSA macro

while attempting to assemble DMKGRF, I noticed that I am missing the macro for PSA which is usually called  IHAPSA; and listing the maclib and txtlib showed no result.  So I poached it from elsewhere but then I thought I ask before loading it into my private copylib if I am doing something I should not be doing.
