Enabling Line Mode

Hercules390 - Vm mailing list
Hello!
I seem to recall a discussion regarding line mode for VM/370rel6 as
installed as reasonably current Six-Pack. Can someone confirm that?

I'll worry about the issue for MVS later.

So Dave M, there is two weeks left, the Yetis are ready. Are you?

Not sure what you mean but it is possible to logon on a virtual machine with a 3215 (telnet) connection. I currently use it for my DOS/VS guest.

Hello!
Perfectly normal, and I use one as the system console.

This to enable having the VM session respond as if someone has logged
via an Asynchronous session. Such as using a remotely coupled 27XX
type terminal.

Well, if I wasn't sure before, now I am: I don't know what you mean and I am not the guy to answer you! :-)

There were issues with using the remote line support, as opposed to channel, but I think these are sorted in some later releases..

Works here over a telnet connection, but you have to make sure the
client software (in my case a custom 2741 emulator) responds with a
suitable type.

What do you need to know? I'll probably have to look in several places
if it's anything detailed.

Where did you get your 2741 emulator ?
